Photo capture saves a still frame from the camera workflow.
Steps
- Open the camera page.
- Open Settings → Photo Settings → Choose Photo Storage Folder and select a writable folder with enough space.
- Close settings, choose Video Source → USB Camera, and confirm that the preview is clear.
- Click Take Photo at the top.
- After the success message, check the image in the configured folder.
Photos are saved as JPG files named with the camera ID and capture time. With multiple cameras selected, the app attempts to save a frame from each.
Successfully saved photos with a detected face are processed for face-library import in the background. Photos with no detected face do not follow that automatic import path. The success prompt does not prove that every camera saved a file or that face indexing has finished; check the destination files and their library parsing status. Add or refresh the folder with the appropriate parsing options if you need other search capabilities.
When to Use It
Use capture when you need proof of a scene, a still face reference, or an image to compare later.
Common Cases
- If the captured image is blurry, reduce motion and try again.
- If the save location is unclear, check the app prompt or settings.
- If you need a cleaner face reference, crop the saved image before searching.
