Configure default refresh behavior for detecting file changes and updating indexed folders.
Refresh settings control how the app detects and processes changes in indexed folders.
Steps
- Open Settings.
- Find the refresh section.
- Adjust change-detection or refresh-related defaults.
- Save settings.
When to Adjust
If your source files are often replaced in place, enable stronger change detection. If folders mostly receive new files and performance matters, use lighter defaults.
Default refresh types can include image search, pose search, semantic search, face search, OCR, color, or other generated data depending on the current version.
Common Cases
- If replaced files still show old thumbnails, enable file-change detection.
- If refresh is slow, refresh smaller scopes or reduce unnecessary strategies.
- If many files moved, use folder management or database migration workflows.
