Color search is useful when the palette matters more than exact subject similarity.
Steps
- Open the image search dialog.
- Upload, drag, or paste a reference image.
- Choose the "Global - Color" strategy.
- Review the recognized dominant colors.
- Keep the colors that best represent the visual style.
- Start the search and review color-similar results.
When to Use It
Use color search for:
- same-tone product images;
- clothing and soft-decoration matching;
- wall art and interior references;
- brand-color material organization;
- design references with similar atmosphere.
Common Cases
- If small decorative colors dominate results, remove those colors before searching.
- If subject similarity is more important, use global image search instead.
- If color data is missing, refresh or rebuild color-related data.
- Narrow the folder or collection scope when results are too broad. Selecting fewer colors changes the palette being compared; it does not necessarily make matching stricter.
Example
The reference is a green forest image with eight selected colors. This example returns eight images; the reference and its identical backup appear first at 100%. This demonstrates a match in the sample library, not a guarantee for other libraries. Set the maximum result count and choose the whole database, a folder, or a collection before searching. Results are saved in the Color Search history under Results.
