Build a Project Collection: From Search Results to Secondary Filtering and Export

Project collections help you gather material from multiple searches and turn it into a clean delivery set.

1. Create a Project Collection

In the search workspace, open the Files tab and click the plus sign beside Collections. Name the collection after the project, client, theme, or delivery batch and confirm. A collection stores relationships to images; creating one does not copy or move originals.

2. Add Search Results into the Collection

From image search, pose search, semantic search, face search, color search, or file browsing, add useful candidates into the project collection.

For a saved search, open its Actions menu in the Results tab. Choose Convert to New Collection for a new project or Add to Existing Collection for another search in the same project. This adds the whole history result, regardless of drawer selection. For a subset, use an explicitly selected-image action in the drawer. Confirm the destination and check it in the collection tree.

3. Filter Again Inside the Collection

Click the collection in the Files tab to open its image drawer. Preview candidates, remove unsuitable items from the collection, or use the drawer's Actions menu to continue searching or export. For text or count conditions, choose Actions → Filter Collection. The main file-list rating/color filters do not directly filter this drawer. Check whether an action covers selected images or all images. Removing an item from a collection leaves its database record and original file intact.

4. Manage the Collection

Rename it if the project changes. Remove wrong items from the collection without deleting source files.

Right-click a collection in the tree to rename, delete, or export it. Deleting the collection removes its relationships, not the original images. Use child collections for separate design directions when needed; parent collections do not automatically aggregate their images. The disabled slideshow options are unavailable.

5. Export Delivery

Right-click the collection and choose Export Images or Export Image Names. Select a destination and wait for completion. Right-click export covers the whole collection regardless of drawer selection; it does not automatically include all child collections. Image Names creates CSV with optional full paths. Images form the delivery package; the CSV supports review. Check that the output is complete before handing it off.

Collection Usage Suggestions

Use one collection per project or delivery batch. Keep names consistent so future searches are easier to understand.

Common Cases

• Too many candidates: filter or split into smaller collections.
• Need to keep search history clean: add candidates to a collection before clearing history.
• Export fails: check destination write permission, free space, and access to the source files.
