Enter the Search Workspace

Open the desktop client, click "Go Search", wait for the local service to connect, and enter the main image search workspace.

After opening the app, the home page shows the product name and the "Go Search" button. Click it to connect to the local service and enter the search workspace with the default database location.

Steps

  1. Open the "Assist Local Image Search" desktop client.
  2. Click "Go Search" on the home page.
  3. Wait a few seconds while the app connects to the local service and loads the workspace. The first connection may take longer depending on computer performance and library size.

In most cases, new users do not need to choose a database location manually. The app uses the configured default location.

What to Check After Entering

The workspace has three main areas:

  • The collapsible left panel has File, People, and Results tabs. File contains database counts, folder trees, and collections; Results contains search history.
  • The middle area shows image thumbnails from the selected folder and its subfolders.
  • The collapsible right panel shows file details such as histograms, metadata, and face information for the selected image.

Common top toolbar entries include:

  • Image: search similar images with a reference image.
  • Semantic: describe what you want in natural language. Availability depends on whether semantic data has been generated.
  • Pose: search images with similar human body poses or actions. Availability depends on whether pose data has been generated.
  • Face: search the same or similar person. Availability depends on whether face data has been generated.
  • Face Filter: filter portrait photos by face count, age, smile, glasses, beard, or face size without a reference face.
  • Duplicate: appears after duplicate detection is enabled and is used to find duplicate or near-duplicate images.
  • More: opens additional search methods and tools.

Common Cases

  • If the app stays on the home page briefly after you click "Go Search", it is usually connecting to the local service. Wait a moment.
  • If the image list is empty after entering the workspace, check whether a folder with images is selected on the left.
  • If there are no folders on the left, the current database has not indexed any material yet. Add folders to the database first.
