Manage Indexed Folders

The folder context menu helps you manage indexed folders without leaving the workspace.

Steps

1. Find the folder in the left folder tree.
2. Right-click the folder.
3. Choose the operation you need.
4. Confirm the action when the app asks for confirmation.

What Each Action Does

• Open original location: opens the folder in the system file manager.
• Move folder: copies the indexed files to the destination; after a successful copy, the app removes the old source files and updates the database path.
• Refresh folder: syncs changes in that folder only.
• Remove from app: removes the folder's database records from the app.

Moving Folder Notes

Use move folder when you want the app to relocate the material for you. This is a real file move, not only a path relink: the app copies the files first, deletes the old originals only after success, and then updates the database path. Check the destination, free space, Include Subdirectories and Overwrite Files with the Same Name before starting. Included indexed subfolder files retain their relative structure where applicable. Do not move source or destination folders during the task.

Remove vs Delete

Remove Folder clears the selected folder and child-folder records, associated previews and search data. It does not delete source files from your computer. File deletion actions are separate and should be used carefully.

These actions describe the desktop host. Browser clients only show the available refresh action; they do not directly open, move or remove the host’s local folder through this menu.

Common Cases

• If a drive letter changed, restore access to the original path or add the folder at its new location. Moving requires readable source files; it is not a way to relink an already missing source.
• If only one project folder changed, refresh that folder instead of refreshing the whole database.
• If a folder is no longer needed in the app, remove it from the database.
