View File Information, Analysis Status, and Metadata

The right detail panel shows technical and organizational information about the selected file.

What the Info Panel Shows

Depending on the file type, the panel may show:

• filename and path;
• file size and format;
• image dimensions and aspect ratio;
• histogram and dominant colors;
• notes for a file with one parsed image;
• an Analysis status row for generated search data.

View Analysis Status

Click View on the Analysis status row. The popover reports the global image feature and configured strategies such as Global subject, Global color, and Local keypoints, plus semantic, OCR, and pose status. Where available, Details or View opens the generated subject, color, keypoint, OCR text, or pose result.

This sidebar entry is shown for a file with one parsed image. For multi-image files, open preview and inspect the details for the current page. Yes indicates generated data; No or Not Parsed indicates no usable data for that item. A request failure is a separate condition.

View Metadata

Click the metadata icon at the top of the right panel to switch from Info. Fields may include dimensions, capture date, camera, lens, exposure, GPS, video duration or other file-specific information. Missing values can appear empty or as a dash; not every original file contains complete metadata.

This example shows 900×600 dimensions and dashes for capture time, camera and GPS. Missing fields do not mean that the image cannot be searched.

Using Color Information

The histogram and dominant-color bar describe the image’s actual color distribution and proportions. They are separate from manually assigned color labels. If Global Color data is available, choose that strategy in image search to find similar palettes.

Common Cases

• If metadata is empty, the source file may not contain that field.
• If dimensions look wrong, refresh or re-parse the file.
• If a required analysis item is missing, check its parsing option and task result. Existing images need reprocessing after enabling Local · Keypoints to first-extract those features or apply new extraction parameters; keypoint index repair does not do this. Back up important databases and test a few files first, since reprocessing may affect collection associations and other image records.
• If the panel says no file is selected, click a thumbnail in the middle list first.

Multi-image files and keypoint details

From 3.13.31, image details follow the current preview page in multi-image files such as Excel and PDF. Wait for keypoint, color or pose details to load; a read failure is not evidence that parsing was never performed.
