File Context Menu Actions

Right-click a material item in the file list to locate it, open the original file, rename it, remove or delete it, copy the filename or path, re-parse it, set ratings or color labels, and save a copy.

The file context menu provides quick actions for the selected item.

Open the Context Menu

  1. Select a file in the file list.
  2. Right-click the item.
  3. Choose the action you need.

Common Actions

  • Locate in file manager: opens the file's folder and selects the file.
  • Open original file: opens it with the system default app.
  • Rename: changes the source filename when supported.
  • Copy filename or path: copies text for communication or records.
  • Re-parse file: refreshes thumbnail, metadata, and extracted content.
  • Set rating or color label: updates organization metadata.
  • Save as: copies the file to another location.

Be Careful with Delete and Remove

Remove from the app clears database records. Delete from device moves the source file to the system recycle bin. Confirm which action you are using before proceeding.

Common Cases

  • Use copy path when asking a teammate to check a source file.
  • Use locate when you need to continue editing in the original folder.
  • Use re-parse when a file's preview or metadata is stale.
