Review duplicate image groups carefully, choose which items to keep, and distinguish between removing from the app, deleting from the device, and removing from a collection.
Duplicate groups are suggestions. Always review before deleting, especially when images are similar but not identical.
Steps
- Open duplicate detection results.
- Select a duplicate group.
- Compare image size, clarity, filename, path, and visual details.
- Select the unwanted items.
- Choose remove, delete, or remove from collection according to your goal.
- Confirm the action.
How to Decide What to Keep
Prefer keeping files that are:
- larger or clearer;
- closer to the original;
- correctly named;
- located in the expected source folder;
- without watermarks, compression artifacts, or edits if you need originals.
Three Actions
- Remove from app: clears records but keeps files.
- Delete from device: moves source files to the recycle bin.
- Remove from collection: only removes items from the current collection.
Common Cases
- If two images are similar but both useful, keep both.
- If you are unsure, export a list or add candidates to a review collection first.
- After deletion, refresh or check the group again.
