View Database Statistics

The database information panel helps you understand what has already been indexed and how much space the database uses.

Steps

1. Open the search workspace and select Files on the left.
2. Click Details beside the image count in the Database section.
3. Use the refresh icon beside Basic Information after indexing or updating data.
4. Scroll down to Database to find the path, Open and Shrink actions.

Understanding the Numbers

• Basic information: folder count, indexed source-file count and image count. Source files can include images, spreadsheets, PDFs and videos.
• Image count: the number of searchable images, including images extracted from multi-image files.
• Image search: database, backup and feature counts for each strategy. Review the strategy you need; adding strategy counts does not give a unique image count. Multiple subjects can create several records per image, so subject backup and feature counts can legitimately exceed the parsed-image count.
• Face search: photos containing faces, detected face records, backups and features. A group photo can contain several faces.
• Pose search: parsed photos, pose records, backups and features.
• Semantic search: parsed data, backups and features used for natural-language searches.
• OCR: photos with text-recognition data, used for searching visible text.
• Disk storage: used, free and total space on the drive containing the database, not just the database's own size.

If a count is lower than expected, indexing may be incomplete or the required feature may not have been selected. If an inconsistency warning appears, wait for related tasks to finish, refresh statistics and follow the warning for the affected data. Do not diagnose corruption merely because there are more subject records than images.

Open the Database Location

Open opens the current database directory in the desktop file manager. It contains database.db, thumbnails, indexes and parsing caches. Keep source material in ordinary folders and add it through the app. Do not manually delete database files, thumb or vector contents; use the app's repair or refresh tools when investigating a problem. Browser clients do not directly open the host's local directory.

Shrink the Database

Shrink reclaims unused space inside database.db after deletions, refreshes or repairs. It does not compress original material or delete indexed images. A result of 0.00 MB can simply mean the database is already compact.

Wait until background tasks finish before shrinking. The panel refreshes the database size afterward. If the drive is still nearly full, shrinking cannot replace disk cleanup or moving the database to a suitable drive.

Common Cases

• If Details briefly shows a loading state, wait for the statistics request to finish.
• If image count is zero, check whether material was successfully added to the current database.
• If a search strategy has no data, add the relevant feature or use its supported repair option.
• If Open has no effect, confirm you are using the desktop host, not a browser client.

Missing statistics

From 3.13.31, unavailable statistics are explicitly shown as unavailable instead of loading indefinitely. This is not a count of zero. Reopen details or follow the reported failure if needed.

Numbers in the example

The example contains ten images: eight have Global and Color data, and two have face data. Image Search shows 16 parsed strategy records (8 + 8), not sixteen different images. Global and Color each still contain eight. Read face counts and photos-containing-faces separately as well.
